Rukmini’s love for acting began in the Theaters of Bangalore. She acted in a few plays with several different theatrical groups, including some directed by Arundathi Raja and Poile Sengupta. She began her study of Acting at the conservatory, she continued studying under Mara Sidmore in Boston. Rukmini acquired a Certificate in acting at the Film Academy in LA to further her interest.

She debuted in a Tamil movie “Bommalattam’, with renowned Actors Nana Patekar and Arjun Sarja, directed by Bharathi Raja. Her next project under the direction of Gandhi Krishna, “Ananda Thandavam” is slated for release in April 2009. “Naan”, directed by Jeeva Shankar and produced by Aascar films is currently under production and will hit the screens later this year.

Along with her recent interest in the films, she retains her love for the theater and is working on several projects in Theater, Experimental performance art and other Stage productions. As an artist, she persists in taking breaks from work to train and keep her acting skills growing and improving with every endeavor.
